On October 24, 2023, Roger Shew, Director of the International Division of Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand, and Shaun Li, Consultant of the International Division, visited our university. Party Secretary Yang Yunfeng, Vice President Wang Weiqun, and leaders of School of Rail Transit, School of Architecture and Surveying Engineering, School of Traffic Information and School of Continuing Education and International Exchange talked with guests. At the forum, Yang Yunfeng welcomed the delegation from Victoria University of Wellington on behalf of our university. He briefly introduced the history of our school, the size of students, professional characteristics and the development of international exchanges, and put forward the vision of cooperation with Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand, hoping to take this opportunity to reach cooperation and exchanges between the two sides, and the two sides can work together for mutual benefit and win-win.
Roger Shew expressed his sincere gratitude to our school for its reception. He introduced the basic situation of Victoria University of Wellington, and hoped to develop all-round and multi-field cooperation with the university. The two sides also held talks on carrying out short-term exchanges of teachers, improving students' academic qualifications, and academic exchanges and cooperation, and signed a strategic cooperation agreement.
After the forum, the guests visited the training room of the School of Rail Transit. Later, at the seminar on studying in New Zealand, Shaun Li introduced the disciplines, admission policies and procedures of Victoria University of Wellington, and preached on the "3+2" upgrading and "3+1+1.5" upgrading projects for students in combination with the characteristic majors of our school and the School of Engineering and Architecture and Design Innovation of Victoria University of Wellington.
This visit is a reciprocal visit to New Zealand by Minister of Education Huai Jinpeng in August this year, which has deepened the cooperation and exchanges between our school and relevant universities in New Zealand, and is an important measure for our university to introduce international high-quality education resources and promote international exchanges and cooperation.Our school and Victoria University of Wellington in New Zealand will jointly promote cooperation in personnel training and joint education, and provide strong talent and skills support for the economic and social development of China and New Zealand.
